Created: 2025-06-13 by Charity Helpers Foundation
Date: 2025-06-13
Version: 1.0

---

**CONCEPT SUMMARY**
Puzzle Rush combines the speed and coordination of a relay race with the brainpower of timed puzzle-solving. Players must complete physical segments of the course and then collectively solve logic-based challenges before tagging the next teammate. Victory requires both agility and intellect.

---

**REQUIRED EQUIPMENT**

- Stopwatch or timing system
- Color-coded relay batons
- Physical course setup (cones, hurdles, dash lanes)
- Puzzle stations (tables with printed puzzles, locks, brain teasers, tangrams, or tablet apps)
- Scoreboard or stat recording sheets

---

**FIELD LAYOUT**

- A 40–60 meter relay loop with clear lanes and turnaround zones
- Two puzzle stations (start and midpoint or finish line)
- Team staging zone for inactive players
- Table area with puzzles and lockboxes (optional for increased difficulty)

---

**PLAYER ROLES**

- 4–6 players per team
- 1 runner at a time
- 1 or 2 designated puzzle solvers (may rotate or be consistent)
- Optional: 1 “strategist” to direct puzzle workflow without touching

---

**GAME OBJECTIVE**

Complete the relay laps fastest **and** solve the required number of puzzles at designated checkpoints. Points are scored for lap speed and puzzle accuracy. Teams must balance raw speed with thoughtful collaboration.

---

**BASIC RULES**

1. Each runner completes one full lap before tagging the next runner.
2. Upon returning, the team must solve a puzzle before the next runner may begin.
3. A puzzle mistake adds a 30-second penalty to the total time.
4. All runners must complete a lap; all solvers must participate in at least one puzzle.
5. Time ends when the final runner completes their lap **and** the final puzzle is solved.

---

**VARIATIONS / SCALING IDEAS**

- **Youth Version**: Simplify puzzles and shorten running track
- **Advanced**: Add physical obstacles or puzzles with multiple stages
- **Themed Rounds**: Use math-only puzzles, memory challenges, or team-based riddles
- **Night Mode**: Use glow sticks, dark course, and LED-lit puzzles

---

**STAT TRACKING SUGGESTIONS**

- Average lap time per player
- Total puzzle time
- Puzzle accuracy rate
- Penalty seconds applied
- Team communication effectiveness score (judge-rated)

---

**NOTES**
Puzzle Rush is ideal for venues with mixed physical and mental engagement zones—great for school yards, parks, and rec centers.
